Over the past 18 months Lockbund has developed a Stainless Steel casting system that now runs alongside the bronze casting in the foundry. Spurred on by Hamish Mackie who had the vision of casting his Cretaceous Ammonite in the material we have now installed an induction furnace and learnt what it takes in terms of process modification to pour stainless steel successfully into lost wax investments.
